The Thrift Shop:

The Thrift Shop!
Highway 6 just south of the village on the west side of the road...
(if you have hit Warner Bay Road you have gone too far.)

A little bit of history…

The Thrift Shop is operated by the Tobermory United Church and was the brainchild and led into operation by one of our long time members, Gladys Morris. In 1993, Gladys, along with many other dedicated folks, rolled up their sleeves and opened the doors in the location that is known as the Settlement Church. Then and still today, volunteers lend their time and energy to make it a successful operation between May 24th weekend and Thanksgiving. Today we are grateful to all of the community members who also volunteer their time to ensure The Thrift Shop is managed, sorted and kept in good repair.

The goal of The Thrift Shop is not only to raise funds for the church and community projects like the Community Outreach Fund, but to promote recycling items like clothing, household dishes, books, tools and the list goes on. Items that are donated are sold at a very reasonable price and taken to new homes and given new life. For those in need, items are given free of charge.

The Thrift Shop provides something for everyone! Please visit us to drop off gently used items, find new treasures or visit with your neighbours.
